The Historian by Elizabeth Kostova

Fans of Bram Stoker's Dracula and Anne Rice's chronicles rejoice!

This is a thrilling account from the prespective of the "victims" as they are drawn towards a mystery so horrific yet seductive. Rich in culture, history, myths and legends, this makes an interesting read. Moreover the author takes us back and forth the present, the recent past and a more further-off past, one will have to be interested enough to keep the pace or risk feeling lost and tossed about an uncertain timeframe! The ending is rather abrupt and predictable, but the overall journey is a beautiful experience. Some bits are rather eerie and I'd rather go on reading than get up to turn off the lights! Well, I now dream of visiting Romania and Istanbul as well.

A must have for all bookworms!
